LanDeng (澜灯) publishes botanical incense knowledge — materials, techniques, history, sourcing, and industry practice — for informational and educational purposes. It is not medical, health, legal, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for professional guidance of any kind. This disclaimer sets out the scope of the content, the limits of our responsibility, and the law that governs your use of the site.
1. Scope of this site
This disclaimer covers incenseherbs.com and the companion dataset site data.incenseherbs.com, both operated by Zhangjiakou Landeng Technology Co., Ltd. (USCC 91130702MAKM4QXH5Q). The site is an English-language, research-led reference for Chinese botanical incense: an ingredient encyclopedia, technique and history guides, a manufacturer and supplier directory, and structured open datasets. It is read by an international audience but is written and operated from China, and it is governed by the law described in section 11 below.
"We", "us", "our", and "LanDeng" refer to Zhangjiakou Landeng Technology Co., Ltd. "The site" refers to the content on these two domains unless a section says otherwise.
2. Informational content, not medical advice
Nothing on this site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and nothing here should be read as medical or health advice. Incense is a fragrance, ritual, and craft practice — not a treatment, a sleep aid, an anxiety remedy, or a substitute for care. Do not use this content to make health decisions, and do not ingest, inhale, or otherwise administer any botanical material based on traditional-medicine descriptions without professional guidance.
References to "health" or "wellness" on this site describe how incense is used culturally — in ritual, meditation, or household fragrance — not a claim about what it does to your body.
3. Traditional use vs modern evidence
Where materials are described in traditional or historical terms — for example, classical Chinese materia-medica language such as 行气止痛 ("to move qi and relieve pain") or 温中 ("to warm the middle") — that is traditional knowledge, recorded as history and culture, not modern clinical evidence. Traditional uses are never presented as proven health effects, and they are never offered as a reason to use a material medicinally.
LanDeng separates three distinct kinds of statement and labels them consistently throughout the site: (a) historical record — what classical texts said, reported as history; (b) scientific finding — what modern research has or has not established, with its source and evidence tier; and (c) trade terminology — the vocabulary of the incense industry, labeled as such. An uncertain claim is marked uncertain. This separation is described in our editorial methodology.
4. Not professional advice of any other kind
The site is also not legal, financial, investment, or tax advice. Information about sourcing, export, certification, pricing, or doing business with China is general background written for orientation — it is not advice you can rely on for a specific transaction or a specific jurisdiction, and it does not create a client relationship. We link to these for reference only. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or accuracy, and a link is not an endorsement. When you leave the site, the terms and privacy policy of the site you land on apply to you there. A broken or changed link is not our responsibility; if you notice one, tell us and we will fix or remove it.

Site imagery — including material still-lifes, process illustrations, and hero banners — is illustrative editorial imagery generated with AI image tools for visual explanation. These images are not photographs of actual products, stock, or facilities, and they do not depict real, verifiable samples. They are styled to match a page's subject and are used to illustrate, not to document. Text, data, and classical-source quotations are handled separately: each page cites its references in an Evidence & Sources section, and dataset licensing is noted per dataset.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
This disclaimer, and your use of the site, are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes are subject to the competent court in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China — the place where the site is operated. This applies even though the site is written in English for an international audience. Nothing here excludes any consumer protection a court of competent jurisdiction decides cannot be excluded. Chinese law governs because the operator's home jurisdiction is China; this states the site's operating law, not a preference against any visitor's rights.
12. Corrections, updates, and versioning

When we change a page's substance, we revise the content, not silently overwrite history; a page that has been corrected reflects the corrected version going forward.
