Safety
Incense is a burning material. Used responsibly, it is a pleasant aromatic practice; used carelessly, it presents real risks. This page is our transparent safety disclosure.
Combustion and smoke
Burning incense produces smoke and particulate matter. We do not claim incense smoke is harmless — combustion of any plant material produces particles you should not inhale in concentration.
Responsible use
- Burn in a well-ventilated space.
- Avoid inhaling concentrated smoke directly.
- Use a proper, heat-safe holder or burner.
- Never leave burning incense unattended.
- Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials.
- Allow ash to cool before disposing.
Natural does not mean safe
A material being "natural" or "botanical" does not mean it is automatically safe to inhale or consume. This is an important distinction we hold ourselves to. We do not make medical or health claims, and we do not describe incense as a treatment for any condition.
Traditional use vs medical use
Traditional and cultural uses of these materials (ritual, meditation, materia medica) are traditional knowledge, not modern clinical evidence. Do not use incense as a substitute for medical care.
